The deadline to file as a candidate for a House or Senate seat in the 2024 Primary election for the New Mexico Legislature was March 12. Twenty state legislators will not be returning to their seats for the 2025 session, including 11 Senators and 9 Representatives. Several Representatives are not running for reelection because they will be running for Senate seats that will be vacated.
The table below, courtesy of the Block Group, is a list of legislators not returning to their seats in 2025. The list was created on March 5, 2024 and was updated on March 13 when the deadline to file as a candidate had passed.
